This policy explains how Smart Savings Guides, the editorial team behind Receipt Rewards Guide, researches, writes, fact-checks and updates its articles, and how affiliate links fit in.
How we research
- Official sources first. We start with primary sources: each app's own terms, help center and privacy policy. Secondary sources such as news coverage only fill gaps and are never the sole basis for a fact.
- Product facts come from the provider. Prices, fees, terms and features are checked against the provider's own current pages, and we name the source in the text when a figure comes from the company itself.
- No invented experience. We don't publish fake reviews, ratings, testimonials or "tested by" claims, and we don't attribute articles to people who don't exist. Where we give an opinion, we say it's our view and explain why.
- Tools. We may use software, including AI writing tools, to help research, draft and edit. Every fact is checked against the cited sources before publishing.
How we fact-check
Before an article is published or updated, each specific claim (prices, limits, dates, legal rules, eligibility) is compared with the official source. Anything we can't verify is removed or clearly marked as uncertain. Where an article relies on official sources, it ends with a Sources list linking to them.
How we keep articles up to date
We review articles on a regular schedule and whenever a rule, price or product changes. Each article shows a Last reviewed date, which is the date we last checked it against its sources. Time-sensitive figures, such as regulated price caps or promotional offers, are re-checked when they're due to change.
How affiliate links work
Our affiliate partners on this site are OGAds, which powers the optional bonus downloads: the bonus unlocks after you complete a sponsored app, offer or survey, and we earn a commission when you do. If you use one of these links we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.
- Commissions never change our recommendations or what we say about a product. We include drawbacks, costs and free alternatives, and we recommend the free option when it's the better choice.
- Sponsored links are labeled, marked
rel="sponsored", and each page with them carries a disclosure near the top. - Advertisers and affiliate networks don't review, edit or approve our articles.

Corrections policy
If we get something wrong, we fix it as soon as we've confirmed the error and update the article's Last reviewed date. Significant corrections that change advice or a figure are noted on the page. You can report an error, an out-of-date fact or a broken link using the contact details below; please include the page address and, if possible, the official source.
